ProfEra Privacy Policy

ProfEra is an educational and professional learning app designed to support learners, students, UPSC aspirants, and competitive exam aspirants through practice questions, solutions, previous year question flow, result screens, bookmarks, progress tracking, weak-area analysis, and related learning features.
ProfEra is an independent educational practice app. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to UPSC, the Union Public Service Commission, or any government body.
This Privacy Policy explains how ProfEra collects, uses, stores, protects, shares, retains, and deletes user data, including Google user data accessed through Google Sign-in.

1. Information We Collect
1.1 Google User Data Accessed
When a user chooses to sign in using Google, ProfEra accesses only the basic Google account information required for authentication and account creation:
- Name
- Email address
- Google account unique identifier or Firebase Authentication user ID, used only for secure login, account creation, and account management
ProfEra uses Google Sign-in only to authenticate users and allow them to access their ProfEra account.
ProfEra does not receive, store, or access the user's Google account password.
ProfEra does not access Gmail, Google Drive, Google Calendar, Google Contacts, Google Photos, YouTube, or any other private Google account content.
Users may also create a ProfEra account using an email address and password. Email/password account data is described separately under section 1.2 App Account and Learning Data.
1.2 App Account and Learning Data
Users may sign in to ProfEra using Google Sign-in or by creating an account with an email address and password.
When users create or use a ProfEra account, we may collect and store app-related data, including:
- User account information such as email address, user ID, account identifier, sign-in method, and account status
- Email/password account information used for account creation, login, email verification, password reset, support, and account deletion requests
- Quiz attempts, selected answers, scores, result history, and practice progress
- Bookmarks, weak areas, reviewed questions, incorrect attempts, and learning activity
- Subscription or entitlement status related to Google Play Billing
- Support requests, feedback, or messages sent by the user
- Device, app performance, crash logs, diagnostic data, and technical information needed to maintain app security and stability
Passwords are handled securely through Firebase Authentication. ProfEra does not store, view, or access user passwords in plain text.
1.3 Technical and Diagnostic Data
ProfEra may use Firebase, Google Play services, Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Firebase Storage, Firebase Crashlytics, and Google Analytics for Firebase to operate, secure, monitor, and improve the app.
2. How We Use Information
We use collected information only for the following purposes:
- To allow users to sign in securely
- To create and manage user accounts
- To provide app functionality
- To load questions, quizzes, solutions, explanations, and learning content
- To save user progress, quiz history, bookmarks, weak areas, and results
- To manage subscription access and Pro features
- To maintain app security, stability, and performance
- To identify, debug, and fix technical issues
- To respond to user support requests
- To improve the user experience and app features
- To prevent fraud, misuse, unauthorized access, or technical abuse
Google user data is used only for providing or improving user-facing features inside ProfEra.
3. Google API Limited Use Disclosure
ProfEra’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
ProfEra does not use Google user data for advertising, retargeting, personalized ads, credit decisions, or selling user data.
ProfEra does not allow humans to read Google user data except where required for security, legal compliance, support requested by the user, or debugging with user consent.
4. Data Sharing and Disclosure
ProfEra does not sell user data or Google user data.
We may share limited data only with trusted service providers that help us operate, secure, and improve the app, including:
- Firebase Authentication for user login and authentication
- Cloud Firestore / Firebase services for storing user progress and app data
- Firebase Storage for app-related storage, if required
- Firebase Crashlytics for crash reporting and app stability
- Google Analytics for Firebase for app usage and performance analytics
- Google Play Billing for subscription and purchase status management
- Hosting, infrastructure, security, and support service providers used to operate the app
These service providers process data only for app functionality, authentication, analytics, diagnostics, billing, storage, security, and support purposes.
We may also disclose information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of users, ProfEra, or others.
5. Data Storage and Protection
ProfEra stores user data using secure cloud-based services such as Firebase and Google Cloud services.
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect user data, including:
- HTTPS/TLS for data transmission
- Authentication-based access controls
- Firebase security rules and restricted access
- Limited administrative access to authorized personnel only
- Security monitoring and technical safeguards to reduce unauthorized access, misuse, loss, or alteration of data
Although we take reasonable measures to protect user data, no method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure.
6. Data Retention
We retain user account data and learning progress for as long as the user maintains an active ProfEra account or as long as needed to provide app services.
Some technical, diagnostic, billing, security, or legal records may be retained for a limited period where required for fraud prevention, security, accounting, legal compliance, dispute resolution, or operational purposes.
7. Data Deletion
Users may request deletion of their ProfEra account and associated data by contacting us at:

Please send the request from the registered email address with the subject line:
“Delete my ProfEra account”
After receiving a valid deletion request, we will delete or anonymize the user’s account data and associated learning data within a reasonable period, unless retention is required for legal, billing, security, fraud prevention, or dispute-resolution purposes.
8. User Control
Users may choose not to sign in with Google. However, some features such as saving progress, bookmarks, subscriptions, weak areas, and syncing learning data may require account login.
Users can also revoke ProfEra’s access to their Google account from their Google Account permissions page.
9. Children’s Privacy
ProfEra is intended for UPSC aspirants and competitive exam preparation users. The app is not specifically directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13 without appropriate consent.
10. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Last Updated” date.
